What is a FUE Hair Transplant?
Hair Transplants are a revolutionary and minimally invasive procedure for treating hair loss. The procedure involves transplanting hair follicles from a donor area in the back of the scalp, and then moving these follicles to areas where the hair is thinning or balding.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is the latest development in hair restoration. This is an advanced, minimally invasive procedure that allows individual follicles to be harvested and transplanted.
Here at the First Glance we exclusively use NeoGraft, which is the most trusted and established name in hair restoration. NeoGraft is a revolutionary device which allows hair restoration to be performed using a no-scalpel, no-stitch procedure. This device has optimized the FUE technique to allow for harvesting of grafts in the least traumatic way possible, which results in superior graft survival.
NeoGraft is considered to be one of the most advanced, minimally invasive hair restoration treatments available today. It allows us to treat both men and women suffering from hair loss.

How Do Hair Transplants Work?
Hair follicles are harvested from a donor area on the back of the scalp. This is possible because hair in this area is considered to be permanent - it is not susceptible to hormones like hair on other parts of the scalp. You can see this in people with advanced balding, but who will still have hair present on the back of their scalp.
The follicles in this area are carefully extracted using the Neograft device. This is a specialized tool that allows for careful removal of individual follicles without damaging them. The individual follicles are then carefully placed into tiny incisions made in the recipient area.
Previously, many hair transplants were performed using the “strip” technique. This involves creating a large scar on the back of the scalp in order to harvest follicles for transplantation. This procedure is much more painful, and leaves a visible scar on the back of the scalp. In contrast, the Neograft procedure is minimally invasive and does not require any large incisions or stitches, and also has significantly less downtime compared to other hair transplant
Harvesting and transplanting individual follicles is a labour-intensive process, and the procedure often takes between six and ten hours. Although length, it is an overall comfortable process. It is similar to flying long distance. Most of the time you are sitting in your seat, but you are able to take a break to eat, and you can get up to go to the bathroom.
Key Benefits of Hair Transplants:
A Neograft hair transplant is a minimally invasive procedure, meaning that it does not require a large incision or any stitches. This reduces the risk of infection and scarring and makes the procedure much more comfortable and less intrusive.
Because the procedure is minimally invasive, recovery time is much shorter than with traditional methods such as the “strip” technique. Most patients can resume their normal activities within a few days, rather than the weeks or months required for traditional hair restoration procedures.
Neograft hair transplant allows for natural-looking results, as each follicular unit is harvested and transplanted individually. This allows for greater control over the direction and angle of the hair growth, resulting in a more natural-looking result. Grafts placed using this technique do not look like hair “plugs”, which were seen using early hair transplant techniques.
No Linear Scarring:
Traditional hair transplant techniques such as the “strip” technique require the creation of a large incision in the back of the scalp. This results in linear scarring in the donor area, which can be visible with shorter hairstyles. The Neograft hair transplant eliminates this risk, as the procedure does not require a large incision.
Potentially Permanent Results:
A Neograft hair transplant can provide long-term results, as the transplanted follicles will have the same genetic makeup as the donor follicles. The donor hair is known to be permanent hair, as it is not susceptible to the same hormonal changes as the hair in the rest of the scalp.
Can Make You Look and Feel Younger:
Hair loss can be detrimental to an individual’s self-esteem and confidence. Hair restoration can bring balance back to the face and can make someone appear to be years younger.

Choosing Your Surgeon
When considering a surgeon, it’s important to research all of your options and choose a Surgery specialist who is Board Certified in both Aesthetic; Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. While many plastic surgeons perform multiple surgeries, you should select a surgeon who focuses strictly on a specific procedure and is recognized for excellence in this procedure.
What are the benefits if your surgeon has a reconstructive surgery background?
Most of the world’s best aesthetic surgeons began with reconstructive practices. In fact, almost all of the groundbreaking techniques in aesthetic surgery have reconstructive origins. Reconstructive surgery cases are typically more complex and often require highly specialized surgical techniques. Comfort, confidence, and predictability with advanced reconstructive surgery techniques have become powerful tools often adapted to aesthetic procedures.
