Mole Removal in Winnipeg, at The First Glance

Serving Patients Across Canada for 25+ Years

What is Mole Removal?

Co2 is a laser used for the removal of moles. It can treat and remove several types of bumps and lesions on the body.
After just a few seconds the moles is gone, and it looks like a tiny burn. Generally it takes 7-10 days to heal. During the healing process the area needs to be kept clean. Healing time may vary depending on the size of the mole, the area being treated and how deep we need to treat. Generally 1 treatment is needed but occasionally a mole can reoccur. Often this means the mole is "hair-bearing" and in this case re-treatment and/or laser hair removal may be needed. This would be done after the area is fully healed.

Side Effects of Mole Removal

Residual redness, Hypo/Hyper pigmentation (which can last several weeks, this is normal), Recurrence of the mole and scarring.

Mole Removal Post-Care

After receiving treatments on the face or body, it is essential to apply an antibiotic ointment such as Polysporin several times a day using a Q-tip to keep the area lubricated. Makeup should not be applied until the area has completely healed to prevent infection. For body treatments, a band-aid can be used to protect the area from clothing. You can shower as normal but should avoid picking, rubbing, or scratching the treated area to prevent scarring.

Post-healing, the skin may remain slightly pink for one to four months, depending on the treated area. It is crucial to avoid sun exposure, including tanning beds, during the healing process and to apply high-quality sunblock for several weeks afterward. Additionally, smoking and sleeping with pets in the bed should be avoided for a week after the treatments.
