Lip Filler
in Winnipeg, Manitoba at The First Glance
Lip Fillers (also called Lip Injections) are performed with precise dermal filler injections to create fuller, softer, plump lips within a matter of minutes. Lip Fillers can also smooth and correct moderate to severe smile lines around the nose and mouth.
Similar to lines and wrinkles on the face, thin lips are another key sign of facial ageing that contributes to a less youthful appearance. Whether you have thin lips, an uneven lip shape, lip lines, or loss of volume, Lip Fillers can help to correct this. With high performance, long-lasting Lip Fillers such as Juvéderm®, Restylane®, and Teosyal®, you can add, restore, and maintain lip volume, hydration, and fullness.
Lip Filler is an advanced medical treatment that should only be performed by an Expert Nurse Injector or a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon in a fully accredited medical clinic. There are many veins, arteries, and nerves in the face making it extremely important to be treated by a licensed medical professional with a physician onsite.
At The First Glance Aesthetic Clinic & Surgery Centre, you have access to Board Certified Aesthetic & Reconstructive Plastic Surgeons, Expert Nurse Injectors, Certified Laser Technicians, Certified Aestheticians, Board Certified Anesthesiologists, Nurse Practitioners, and Professional Patient Coordinators all under one roof. Your Custom Lip Filler Treatment Plan
When it comes to aesthetic treatments of any kind, there’s no such thing as one size fits all. Every patient has their own unique needs. Whether you are interested in a subtle natural look or dramatic bombshell results, your Lip Filler Treatment will be fully customized according to your existing facial anatomy and desired aesthetic results.
What Causes Thin Lips?
Several factors contribute to thin lips. Some of the causes include:
01. Family Genetics: Our DNA. Some of us were simply born with small lips.
02. Ageing: Collagen and elastin breaks down due to the natural ageing process. As we age, our lips become thinner and smaller.
03. Alcohol and Smoking: Various lifestyle patterns can contribute to loss of volume, lip lines, and wrinkles.
04. Sun Damage: Going outside without sun protection on your lips.
What Is The Best Dermal Filler for Lip Injections and How Does Hyaluronic Acid Work?
There are a variety of dermal fillers to choose from. All are made with Hyaluronic Acid, which is a very safe and naturally occurring substance in the skin. Hyaluronic Acid helps the skin retain moisture, delivers nutrients, creates softness, and adds volume. The choice of dermal filler for your treatment is determined by the length of time the filler lasts, the cost per syringe, and the desired look you’d like to achieve. Most of our patients prefer soft, hydrated, natural results. They are rarely interested in the Kardashian/Jenner effect. Our expert injectors at The First Glance specialize in full, natural results.
Most of the Juvéderm®, Restylane®, and Teosyal® products tend to last around 6 to 12 months when injected in the lips. Filler in the lips metabolizes much faster than other areas of the face because we are eating, talking, and constantly moving our lips. Some of the more common Lip Fillers on the market today include Juvéderm Ultra®, Juvéderm Volbella®, Teoysal Kiss®, and Restylane Kysse®.
What Can I Expect During My Lip Filler Treatment?
On the day of your Lip Filler treatment, your expert injector will meet you in a private treatment room to discuss your aesthetic goals in detail. From there, your injector will assess your lips to determine what type of filler is best to achieve your desired aesthetic results. Before your Lip Injections begin, your skin will be cleansed at the injection sites to remove any makeup or oil on the surface of your skin (very important). Now that your skin is clean, your injector is ready to introduce the Lip Filler with a cannula or an ultra-fine needle (which may feel like a light pinch). A cannula is a tiny tube that distributes the dermal filler. Some injectors prefer to use a cannula to reduce the risk of bruising. All of the injectors at The First Glance are experts in both methods (needle and cannula). Your injector will determine which technique is best for your treatment.
Your injector will go slowly, adding your filler in stages until they reach your desired aesthetic results. Your injector may also mold the filler with their fingers after it’s injected to shape it into place before it fully sets. It’s important to ice the area after your treatment to reduce swelling and bruising.
Your treatment will take about 15 to 30 minutes.
Your Lip Filler treatment can be performed at the same time as other injectable treatments such as Botox, Jawline Slimming, and Under Eye Filler.
Advanced Specialized Training
Lip Filler is an advanced medical treatment that should only be performed by an Expert Nurse Injector or a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon in a fully accredited medical clinic. There are many veins, arteries, and nerves in the face making it extremely important to be treated by a licensed medical professional with a physician onsite. While many injectors perform Lip Filler treatments, you should select a specialist who is recognized for excellence in Lip Filler treatments.

What Is The Expected Recovery Time After My Lip Filler Treatment?
Swelling is at its peak 1 to 2 days after your treatment. Light swelling will continue to improve over the next 5 to 10 days. Small bruises can occur around the injection site; they are easily covered with makeup.
When Will I See Results After My Lip Filler Treatment?
You will see results immediately. There will be some swelling after your treatment so you won’t get a full picture of your final results until a few days later.
How Long Will My Results Last?
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers dissolve naturally and gradually over time. Lip Fillers can last up to 1 year with optimal treatment by an experienced injector. This can vary depending on your anatomy and how quickly filler dissolves in your body. Touch-up treatments are required to maintain your results.
Things You Need To Know Before Your Lip Filler Treatment
We want you to achieve amazing results and love your new lips. Here’s some important information about injectable dermal fillers so you can reduce the risk of bruising and discover how to be proactive for best results.
Lip Fillers cannot be performed if you have a cold sore. If you are prone to getting cold sores, it is essential to tell your injector during your consultation. There is a cold sore medication that must be taken before being injected. If you have a history of frequent cold sores please discuss this with our Expert Nurse Injector during your consultation. You may be provided with a prescription to start taking 2 days prior to your treatment.
Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding cannot have Lip Filler treatments.
To minimize bruising, please avoid alcohol for at least 48 hours before your injections. To improve the longevity of your treatment, we recommend that you refrain from gym workouts for 48 hours and avoid excessive heat (saunas, hot yoga) for 2 weeks after your treatment. For optimal results, we recommend that you follow these guidelines so you can reduce the risk of bruising.
