What is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is an advanced Injectable Treatment that uses your own natural platelet-rich plasma (which are components of the blood that contain growth factors) to stimulate collagen and elastin production. This treatment is an all-natural alternative to traditional dermal fillers such as Juvéderm and Restylane.
PRP plays a critical role in tissue repair and regeneration and does wonders to smooth wrinkles and revitalize the skin.
During your PRP treatment, your Expert Nurse Injector will draw a small amount of blood. Your blood will be placed into special test tubes inside a spinning centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich component that contains large amounts of regenerative molecules. Once your PRP is collected, it will be injected into your skin, causing your body to create new collagen and elastin, the key elements to rejuvenated skin.
Platelet Rich Plasma is an excellent option if you prefer to use your body’s regenerative power to smooth lines and rejuvenate your skin.

The Benefits of Platelet-Rich (PRP) Injections
Platelet Rich Plasma can be used for a variety of concerns, including:
- Skin Rejuvenation
- Acne Scars
- Hair Rejuvenation
PRP has a regenerative effect by thickening the dermis. It is particularly effective for creating revitalized skin, treating under-eye hollows, reducing the appearance of fine lines, and thickening the supporting layer of the skin. It can also be used to stimulate hair growth in those who have thinning hair.
Platelet Rich Plasma vs. Dermal Fillers
Traditional dermal fillers (like Restylane and Juvéderm) and Platelet Rich Plasma can be used to replace lost volume in the face, however, there are some differences.
Traditional dermal fillers are great for delivering immediate effects. Platelet-Rich Plasma, in contrast, is a gradual effect, it can take a few months to see results. The reason for the delay is because PRP naturally stimulates collagen and elastin. The cytokines and stem cells continue to work and produce collagen long after the initial PRP injection, so your results take a little longer to show, but the exciting part is your results can last 1 to 2 years. PRP results are very subtle. If you are interested in dramatic results, dermal fillers or a combination of both may be suggested at the time of your consultation.
Some people enjoy the idea of looking better gradually, so others don’t see a drastic immediate change in their appearance. PRP is an amazing tool to achieve gradual, natural rejuvenation.
