Eyelid Surgery
in Winnipeg, Manitoba at The First Glance
As we age, the skin around our eyelids stretches and loses its ability to withstand the pull of gravity. Our facial muscles weaken, and tissues around our eyes begin to sag. This creates puffy bags, heavy folds, and in some cases, noticeable pockets of fat around the eyes that make us look tired, angry, or unhappy. A lot less vital than we’d like to appear.
Eyelid Surgery is performed to brighten your eyes and give your face a naturally healthy, well-rested, and revitalized appearance.
At The First Glance Aesthetic Clinic & Surgery Centre, you have access to Board Certified Aesthetic & Reconstructive Plastic Surgeons, Board Certified Anesthesiologists, Nurse Practitioners, Certified Laser Technicians, Certified Aestheticians, Expert Nurse Injectors, and Professional Patient Coordinators all under one roof. Our expert Medical Aesthetics team has been serving patients across Canada for 25+ years.

Your Custom Eyelid Surgery Treatment Plan
When it comes to aesthetic surgery of any kind, there’s no such thing as one size fits all. Every patient has their own unique surgical needs. Whether you are interested in a subtle natural look or dramatic results, your Eyelid Surgery will be fully customized according to your existing facial anatomy, unique surgical requirements, and desired aesthetic results.
Two Types Of Eyelid Surgery
You have two different types of Eyelid Surgery to choose from.
01. Upper Eyelid Surgery
Incisions are strategically placed on the upper eyelids, removing excess skin and fatty tissue. Incisions are hidden in the natural contour of your upper eyelid. They will continue to fade and smooth out as you heal over time.
02. Lower Eyelid Surgery
This procedure involves the removal of excess skin and fat. Incisions can be made just under the lower lash line or inside the lower lid.
Together, you and your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon will review all of your options in detail to determine which type of Eyelid Surgery is best for you.
Choosing Your Surgeon
When considering a surgeon, it’s important to research all of your options and choose a Facial Surgery specialist who is Board Certified in both Aesthetic & Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. While many plastic surgeons perform Eyelid Surgery, you should select a surgeon who focuses strictly on facial plastic surgery and is recognized for excellence in this procedure.
What are the benefits if your surgeon has a reconstructive surgery background?
Most of the world’s best aesthetic surgeons began with reconstructive practices. In fact, almost all of the groundbreaking techniques in aesthetic surgery have reconstructive origins. Reconstructive surgery cases are typically more complex and often require highly specialized surgical techniques. Comfort, confidence, and predictability with advanced reconstructive surgery techniques have become powerful tools often adapted to aesthetic procedures.
At the First Glance Aesthetic Clinic & Surgery Centre, all of our surgeons are Board Certified Aesthetic & Reconstructive Plastic Surgeons, which is the highest level of achievement a Plastic Surgeon in Canada can obtain.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Is Recovery Like After Eyelid Surgery?
Recovery from Eyelid Surgery will be different for each patient depending on the extent of the surgery and the patient’s health.
After your Eyelid Surgery, you may be asked to rest for the first week. Keep your head elevated for the first few days, and you may need to apply cold compresses or eye drops to relieve any discomfort. You may be instructed not to participate in strenuous activities for 2 to 3 weeks.
You will return to The First Glance for a postoperative visit almost immediately and then periodically to monitor your progress.
What Is The Cost Of Eyelid Surgery?
Every Eyelid Surgery is a customized procedure, so the cost can vary significantly. In general, the cost of Eyelid Surgery ranges from $3,000 to $8,000. The exact cost is determined by your existing facial anatomy and desired aesthetic results. Eyelid Surgery that involves correction of both upper and lower Eyelids may be more due to the additional surgical time required.
The surgeon you decide to work with is the #1 determining factor on the results you’re going to achieve. Plastic Surgeons price their procedures according to the quality care and surgical skills they bring to their patients. Seeking a surgeon based on price often leads to undesirable results, and the problems that come along with it are often complex (and costly) to fix. Ask anyone who has undergone revision surgery; it’s a lot less expensive to get it done right the first time.
The extent of your procedure will determine the exact cost. If you require additional surgical time to achieve your desired aesthetic results, that will be reflected in your quote.
You will receive an exact quote after your consultation with your Plastic Surgeon. Quotes are valid for 6 months from the date they are printed.
To reserve your consultation, call our Patient Coordinator at The First Glance Aesthetic Clinic & Surgery Centre (204) 885-1419.
Is Financing Available?
Yes, we work with a credit company called MediCard that specializes in financing options for aesthetic surgery. It’s easy and fast to apply. You can apply with MediCard online or over the phone. Once you are approved, you can go forward with securing your surgery date.
MediCard is not your only option for financing. You can also contact your bank to see if they can offer you lower interest rates.
If you would like to learn more about your financing options, please call one of our Patient Coordinators at (204) 885-1419 for more details.
What Are The Risks Involved?
Eyelid Surgery is a safe and effective surgery, with minimal complications.
During your consultation, your Board Certified Facial Surgeon and his expert medical team will clearly outline all of the necessary precautions you need to take, as well as any postoperative limitations you should follow.
Your surgeon and his team of medical experts will take every necessary precaution to minimize any risks involved with your surgery.
