Dermal Fillers like Juvéderm, Restylane, and Teosyal are injectable treatments that fill lines, smooth wrinkles and add volume to enhance facial features. Whether you’re interested in smoothing deep lines and wrinkles, redefining the contour of your face, or adding more volume to your lips — fillers can take years off your appearance within a matter of minutes.
What Are The Different Types Of Dermal Fillers?
There’s a variety of dermal fillers to choose from. Popular brands like Juvéderm, Restylane, and Teosyal have extended product lines that treat specific areas and deliver specific results. All are made with Hyaluronic Acid, which is a very safe and naturally occurring substance in the skin. Hyaluronic Acid helps the skin retain moisture, delivers nutrients, creates softness, and adds volume.
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers come in a variety of thicknesses. Thicker gel densities (high G prime fillers) are used to add volume, structure, and support in areas like the cheekbones, chin, and jawline. Your expert injector will identify the right filler for your treatment at the time of your consultation. Determining factors include your facial anatomy, the areas treated, the length of time the filler lasts, the cost per syringe, and the desired look you’d like to achieve.
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers dissolve naturally and gradually over time. Touch-up treatments are required to maintain results.
How Are Dermal Fillers Used?
Dermal Fillers can be injected with a needle or a blunt-tip cannula. The cannula technique involves an initial injection site created with a needle, then a tiny tube is inserted at the injection site to distribute the product. Using a cannula can help to reduce bruising and swelling. All of the injectors at The First Glance are experts in both methods (needle and cannula). Your injector will determine which technique is best (needle or cannula) according to the type of filler and areas treated.

Juvéderm
What Is Juvéderm™ Injectable Gel?
As we age, our skin changes. Over time, the natural volume of youthful skin begins to diminish as wrinkles and folds form. But, with Juvéderm™ injectable gel, you don’t have to just sit back and let it happen! Recently approved by the FDA, Juvéderm™ injectable gel is a “next-generation” dermal filler. The smooth consistency gel helps to instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like your “smile lines” or “parentheses” (nasolabial folds—the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth).
Juvéderm™ is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. Your healthcare professional eases Juvéderm™ injectable gel under the skin to provide a smooth, natural look and feel—so everyone will notice (but no one will know)! In fact, studies show superior results of Juvéderm™ compared to a collagen-based dermal filler.* And, almost 90% of all study volunteers who were treated with both Juvéderm™ injectable gel and another dermal filler* preferred Juvéderm™! In addition, Juvéderm™ injectable gel is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is proven to be safe and effective for persons of color.
With Juvéderm™ the injection process takes only about 15 minutes and results are immediate. Plus, there’s minimal recovery or downtime. So you can step into your doctor’s office for treatment and step right back into your life.
Benefits of Juvederm Injectable Gel
Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers like Juvéderm™ injectable gel offer a safe and effective nonsurgical option for smoothing facial wrinkles and folds. In fact, they are the fastest growing nonsurgical aesthetic procedure in the United States according to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. But all dermal fillers are not the same!
If you’re interested in being treated with this nonsurgical physician-administered treatment option, you should know the advantages of choosing Juvéderm™ injectable gel:
- A “next-generation” filler
Juvéderm™ is a “next-generation” dermal filler that is made from hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance that plays a vital role in hydrating your skin and replenishing its natural volume. No allergy skin tests are needed prior to receiving treatment. - Advanced technology for long-lasting results
Juvéderm™ injectable gel employs its unique manufacturing process to provide the highest concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any currently available hyaluronic acid dermal filler for long-lasting results. This advanced manufacturing process also creates a smooth consistency gel that flows consistently and easily into the skin and provides a smooth, natural look and feel. Juvéderm™ is the only filler available with this smooth consistency gel formulation—other existing hyaluronic acid fillers are made of granular consistency gels. - Proven safety and effectiveness
Juvéderm™ is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has demonstrated its safety and effectiveness in persons of color. This product is also one of the few that has not been tested on animals. - Quick and easy procedure
Juvéderm™ injectable gel is a nonsurgical physician-administered treatment that requires no allergy skin test and minimal recovery or downtime. - Personalized treatment
Juvéderm™ injectable gel is available in two formulations— Juvéderm™ Ultra for versatility in contouring and volumizing facial wrinkles and folds, and Juvéderm™ Ultra Plus, a more robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and wrinkles. This allows your healthcare professional to tailor treatment to meet your unique needs.
How Juvéderm™ Works
Juvéderm™ injectable gel is a nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment. Your healthcare professional eases Juvéderm™ under the skin using a fine needle to augment, or fill, the soft tissue of the dermis—the dense inner layer of skin beneath the epidermis—to add volume and diminish wrinkles and folds. Juvéderm™ injectable gel is used most effectively for those wrinkles and folds in the lower third of your face, like your “laugh lines,” “smile lines” or “parentheses” (nasolabial folds), or “marionette lines” (oral commissures).
Juvéderm™ is a “next-generation” filler. It is made from hyaluronic acid—a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to hydrate and add volume. Hyaluronic acid may diminish with age, contributing to the formation of wrinkles and folds. Juvéderm™ injectable gel works to correct this by restoring hyaluronic acid in your skin, helping to smooth wrinkles and folds.
Juvéderm™ employs its unique manufacturing process to provide the highest concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any currently available hyaluronic acid dermal filler for long-lasting results. This advanced manufacturing process also works to create a smooth consistency gel that flows easily into the skin during the injection process and provides a smooth, natural look and feel—so everyone will notice (but no one will know!) Juvéderm™ injectable gel is the only filler available with this smooth consistency gel—other existing hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are made of granular consistency gels.
Teosyal
Teosyal®
Teosyal® is offering two break through treatments that we are now offering to you:
Redensity [I], which focuses on hydrating and replenishing skin and is formulated to promote a natural light reflection to promote younger more radiant skin on your face, neck and hands.
Redensity [I]I, which is more of a filler and focuses on dark pigment located in the tear trough area (under the eye) of the eye.It targets “sad” or “tired” looking eyes which results in natural and long-lasting results.
Teosyal® Redensity [II] is the first dermal filler formulated to treat the tear trough area (under eyes) of the eyes. If you find yourself struggling to reduce black circles, fine lines and crepiness that forms under the eyes, Teosyal® Redensity II can help. Redensity II continues to work long after the injection treatment takes place by infusing the area with amino acids, antioxidants, minerals and vitamins for maximum long-term results.
What is Teosyal® Redensity [I]?
Redensity [I] is the newest skin revitalizer restoring hydration, luminosity and tone. Teosyal® Redensity [I] is specifically designed to target fine lines, dull complexion and dehydrated skin in the under eye area as well as the face, hands, and neck. This light filling innovation is formulated to leave you with a lighter brighter tone and a more uniform and very natural result. Teosyal® Redensity [I] is an extremely pure product consisting of 8 amino acids, 3 antioxidants, 2 minerals, hydrating hyaluronic acid and 1 vitamin. All of these ingredients are already naturally present in your skin so this product really gives dull and lifeless looking skin the boost it needs to become vibrant, younger looking tissue.
How does Teosyal® Redensity [I] Work?
At any given age your skin is constantly loosing its luminance and glow. In time, skin dulls, fine lines form, skin texture and tone becomes uneven forming dark areas and wrinkles begin to show up out of no where. Once your injector applies the Teosyal® Redensity [I] to the desired area, your skin will regain the ability to reflect light and you will begin to notice a more even tone to the treated area.
Who is best suited to use Teosyal® Redensity [I]?
This break through light filling treatment is suitable for any age and gender. If you have noticed your skin to look tired, dull, drawn,or to have dark circles under the eyes, then Teosyal® Redensity [I] may be the treatment you have been looking for. Not only will Redensity [I] correct the pigment issues but it will correct fine lines as well.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?Â
For best results it is recommended that 3 appointments spaced 3 weeks apart are made to see optimal results. Results are visible after the 1st Light Filling session, but the cumulative results 1 month after the 3rd Light Filling Session are the most exciting! To maintain the results of your initial 3 sessions, it is recommended to have an additional single session sometime within the following year.
What Are Eye Circles?

Are There Effective Treatments?

The formulation of Teosyal ® PureSense Redensity I and Redensity II includes lidocaine, an anesthetic ensuring an optimal comfort throughout the injection session.
Is the Skin Marked After the Injection?
Redness and slight bruising at the injection site may occur, but they are greatly reduced by the application of an ice pack after the injection.
Galderma Restylane
Galderma
The look of your skin depends, among other things, on a substance called hyaluronic acid, which gives your skin its volume, hydration and that youthful glow we all want to keep forever. Ageing, diseases and injuries are some of the factors that weaken the amount and quality of hyaluronic acid our bodies are able to naturally produce. Until now, it has not been possible to use hyaluronic acid in the skin without using a product of animal origin. Now Q-Med Aesthetics are available for treatment of lips, wrinkles, folds, lack of hydration and loss of volume. All Galderma products are non-animal based.
Galderma Restylane
Which of the following products your Nurse Injector will choose to use on you depends on your skin type texture and your overall desired look. After consulting with your Nurse Injector you will come up with a customized injection plan to obtain your specific goal appearance.
Restylane Volyme is used to add a softer, subtle “plumpness” to structures of the face such as cheeks and chin. This product is often used on patients with thinner skin
Restylane Kysse is generally used to increase fullness of lips
Restylane Defyne adds volume to more prominent areas of the face that require more structure such as the jaw line, cheeks and chin. If you want youe cheeks to “pop” this is the product for you
Restylane Lyft adds definition to cheeks, chin, jawline and is used to enhance features
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that is found throughout the body. It gives, for example, volume to the skin, lubricates the joints and gives the eye its shape.
How long does the effect last?
Since Restylane products are made of a substance very similar to what your own body produces, the same ongoing processes (such as aging) that change the structure of your skin will also alter the product. Eventually the product totally disappears from the body. How long the effect of the treatment lasts is very individual. It depends on many factors, such as the structure of the skin, lifestyle and ages as well as on the degree of perfection demanded by the individual. Most patients choose to have touchup treatments done within 6-12 months of the original treatment. For lip augmentation, new treatment is normally needed after about 4-8 months. If you choose not to do touch-up treatments, the correction will gradually disappear until your skin looks just as it did before the treatment.
All products are based on a hyaluronic acid gel that is injected into he skin in order to lift up wrinkles or add volume and moisture to the face and lips.
How were Q-Med Aesthetics’ Products developed?
In 1994, after more than 20 years of research, the company Q-Med in Sweden managed to develop a way of using a non-animal hyaluronic acid to replace lost skin tissue. Before this, collagen made from cow skin and hyaluronic acid or hylaform, originally derived from rooster combs had been used.
What kind of wrinkles can be treated?
Common areas are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows), the nasolabial folds (from the wing of the nose to the angle of the mouth) and the wrinkles around the lips and around the eyes, but other sites can also be treated.
Where can volume be added to my face?
Basically anywhere you once had volume and over time have lost it OR areas that already have volume and you just wish to plump it up. Cheeks, jawline, lips, and chin are the most common areas that people choose to add volume to.
What results can be obtained from lip treatment?
The vermilion border can be accentuated and the lip can be given more volume.
What is the treatment like?
The treatment is a very easy and quick process. Since no pre-test is required, the treatment can be carried out immediately and takes between 15 and 30 minutes. The result is instant.
Is it painful?
This is very individual depending on how sensitive to pain you are. The injections may prick a little but normally no anesthesia is needed for the treatment of wrinkles. Lip treatment can be quite uncomfortable and therefore a freezing such as Lidocaine (dental freezing) may be injected prior to the treatment.
Injection Sites
Using the right product in the right area is essential to achieving desired aesthetic results. Here’s our guide to facial fillers according to each injection site. (Please note that this guide will continue to evolve as brands update their product lines).
Under the eyes is one of the most challenging areas to treat. Your injector will choose a filler that is specifically designed to treat under-eye hollows to avoid the Tyndall effect (the bluish tint under the skin). Teosyal Redensity, Juvéderm Volbella and Juvéderm Volift are ideal fillers for this area.
Depending on your desired results, your injector will use Juvéderm Ultra, Juvéderm Volbella, Teosyal Kiss, or Restylane Kysse. Most of our patients prefer soft, hydrated, natural results. They are rarely interested in the Kardashian/Jenner effect.
Cheekbones typically need more volume, structure, and support. Therefore, a thicker filler (high G prime) such as Juvéderm Voluma, Teosyal Ultra Deep, or Restylane Lyft.
The jawline needs more definition. Therefore, Juvéderm Voluma, Juvéderm Ultra, Juvéderm Volux, Restylane Defyne, or Teosyal Ultra Deep may be used.
The chin typically needs a thicker filler to create more projection. Juvéderm Voluma, Restylane Lyft, or Teosyal Ultra Deep are great options to add volume, structure, and support.
Smile Lines And Folds Around The Mouth (Nasolabial Folds)
Nasolabial folds begin next to the nostril and extend down to the corner of the mouth. Smile lines and folds around the mouth are typically caused by the natural ageing process; loss of bone and fat volume in the face. As a result, your injector may recommend filler for your cheeks before injecting your nasolabial folds. The cheek is the support structure for this area; without this much-needed support from your cheeks, your results may be less than optimal. During your consultation, your injector will assess the natural anatomy of your face to determine if cheek fillers are right for you. Juvéderm Volift and Restylane Defyne are great options to treat this area.
