Thigh Lift

Improving the appearance of your thighs is a major concern for a lot of people. Weight fluctuations or the ageing process can take its toll on our skin. After a significant weight loss, some people are left with sagging skin in the thigh area and no matter how much they tone and exercise; they can’t seem to eliminate that excess skin. Once that elasticity in the skin is gone or stretched out, it could be impossible to correct without surgery.

If you are looking to tighten the thigh skin and improve the contour of your legs, or maybe you want to gain self-confidence and feel more comfortable at the beach or gym, then a Thigh Lift surgery might be your best option.

How is a Thigh Lift performed?

Dr. Anthony P. Lockwood or Dr. Avi Islur would perform a Modified Thigh Lift or a Full Thigh Lift, depending on your size and the amount of skin that needs to be removed. A modified thigh lift has a shorter incision and would be more suitable on someone whose loose skin is confined to the inner thighs. A full thigh lift has a longer incision extending from the upper thigh to the knee and in the crease between the thigh and the public region. Liposuction is commonly performed in conjunction with this surgery to optimize the results.

A Thigh Lift is done under general anesthesia and usually takes 1-3 hours. The surgery is performed in our fully equipped surgical centre located on the premises.

What is the recovery period like after a Thigh Lift?

As with most cosmetic surgeries, you will need to take time to recover. The recovery period will be different for each patient depending on the extent of the surgery, and the patient’s health.

After a Thigh Lift surgery, you will need to take 2 weeks to recover. You can expect to have some swelling, bruising and discomfort. You will be required to wear a compression garment to help reduce swelling in the area. You will be able to return to work in 1-2 weeks, depending on your job and healing. No heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for 4-6 weeks.

Are there any risks to a Thigh Lift?

During your consultation, Dr. Lockwood or Dr. Islur and his expert medical team will clearly outline all of the necessary precautions you need to take, as well as any postoperative limitations you should follow. Any risks and benefits will be discussed in full detail. Dr. Lockwood and his staff take every necessary precaution to minimize any risk involved with all surgeries or cosmetic procedures
