Cool Laser Liposuction is a minimally invasive technology that liquefies fat for easy removal. It breaks up and removes fat cells in smaller areas, such as under the chin, neck and jowls, male breasts or areas with loose skin such as the arms. The Cool Laser Liposuction laser system contracts collagen and tightens the skin from the inside out, which cannot be achieved through traditional liposuction or “fat dissolving” treatments.
How is Cool Laser Liposuction performed?
Dr. Lockwood would insert a small cannula which contains the Cool Laser Liposuction laser fibre under the skin. The energy from the laser disrupts and liquefies the fat, tightens the skin and the fat is then removed via liposuction. This is a short and gentle procedure, performed under local anaesthesia in our state-of-the-art facility located at The First Glance Clinic. Cool Laser Liposuction can take 1-2 hours, depending on the area being treated. You are able to go home not long after the procedure is performed.
What is the recovery period like after Cool Laser Liposuction?
As with most cosmetic surgeries, you will need to take time to recover. The recovery period will be different for each patient depending on the extent of the surgery, the area of the body, and the patient’s health.
After Cool Laser Liposuction, depending on the area you had treated, you can expect to be swollen, bruised, and have some discomfort. You can expect to return to work and normal activities when you are feeling better, generally, a few days to a week. Strenuous activity should be avoided for 2-3 weeks. You will be required to wear a compression garment after the procedure. Full results can be seen over the course of the following months.
Are there any risks to Cool Laser Liposuction?
During your consultation, Dr. Lockwood and his expert medical team will clearly outline all of the necessary precautions you need to take, as well as any postoperative limitations you should follow.
Dr. Lockwood and his staff take every necessary precaution to minimize any risk involved with all surgeries or cosmetic procedures. The key to any procedure is to properly follow your post-care instructions to minimize any potential risks.
