Pearl Fusion # 1

This patient had a Pearl Fusion performed to her face, except around the mouth by Laser Techinican Jill. These pictures were taken 3 weeks post treatment.

By combining both Pearl Resurfacing and Pearl Fractional, this advanced technology offers a great solution for those stubborn pores, photo-ageing, wrinkles, scarring and skin laxity. By treating the outer most surface and deeper layers of the skin simultaneously, the results far exceed any other resurfacing treatment. Pearl Fusion refreshes the surface of the skin, and helps to renew the dermis.

Pearl resurfacing is a laser that passes through the surface of the skin without instantly ablating it. The epidermal layer then acts as a natural wound dressing until the skin below is fully healed. The outer layer of the skin will then shed over the next 24-36 hours and result in full epidermal renewal.

Pearl Fractional is an ablative fractionated laser that removes small portions of the skin while keeping the surrounding tissue fully intact. These micro holes then fill up with brand new epithelial cells, helping to create volume and collagen re modelling from the deeper layers of the skin. This treatment is much safer then non-fractionated ablative lasers because rather than removing the entire surface of the skin, it only removes small fractions of it resulting in decreased risk of infection and scarring.

Pearl Fusion is a combination of both procedures which provides you with the most optimal results.

The downtime for Pearl Fusion is approximately 10 days depending on lifestyle, genetics, and overall health. You will likely have some swelling; there will be some skin discoloration and a rough texture followed by a shedding of the surface skin.  Darker skin types may need special post care instructions as a preventative measure.

The key to any treatment is to follow the proper post care instructions given to you by your medical professional. However, as with any laser treatment, Pearl Fusion has some possible risks and side effects. These include residual redness, excessive swelling, post inflammatory hyper pigmentation, and poor healing possibly resulting in disruptions of the skin tissue i.e.: scars and burns.

All laser treatments are performed at The First Glance Aesthetic Clinic and Surgery Centre by our Laser Techinicans under Dr. Lockwood’s supervision.
